Leading advances in new radiotherapy techniques to treat cancer; optimizing imaging technologies to predict tumor recurrence and visualize response to therapy

Research Overview

  • Dr. Christopher Jones is a board-certified radiation oncologist who specializes in the use of ionizing radiation to treat cancer, focusing on tumors of the head and neck, prostate, and brain.
  • He investigates optimal use of radiation therapy (radiotherapy) techniques including intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), high-dose brachytherapy, and image-guided radiation therapy.
  • Dr. Jones is a Principal Investigator for Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG) National Cancer Institute-sponsored oncology group clinical trials.
  • He has authored numerous publications and abstracts on radiotherapy and imaging techniques to assess cancer progression, predict tumor recurrence after surgery and radiotherapy, and visualize response to treatment.
  • Dr. Jones lectures nationally and internationally on the role of radiation therapy in the management of head and neck cancers.
